Cochinita

This is the ONLY place I've been able to get cochinita tacos around here! They reminded me so much of my time in Yucatan. Delicious food at reasonable prices. I highly recommend Taqueria Picoso!

Baja Shrimp

This was my first time trying Taqueria Picoso, but it won't be the last. I got three tacos - the fish, the shrimp and the barbacoa. I feel like you can't go wrong with shrimp tacos, but these shrimp tacos were especially RIGHT. Amazingly seasoned, fresh and grilled to perfection - no rubbery shrimp here! The shrimp were a good size while still being easy to eat in a taco. The flavors are perfectly balanced - other than a squeeze of lime, I didn't add anything to this taco and it was great. Every taco I got here was awesome . . . I'm looking forward to eating my way through their menu in the future!

Cochinita

Dang everything was so gooooood! What was supposed to be just a quick after work drink with friends quickly turned into so much more once we got a taste of the menu! First, shoutout to Johnny who made us these amazing (off-the-menu) jalapeno spicy margaritas! He was so attentive and charismatic throughout our entire visit! Then we grabbed some chips and guac as a little snack, and those too were phenominal! Not only is it evident that everything from the chips to the seasonings are made fresh-in-house, but everything came out in a matter of minutes, hot and ready to eat. And whatever combo of seasonings you put on the chips needs to be packaged and sold (if it already isn't)! The chips then led to tacos and quesadillas, and again we were not disappointed! I ended up ordering only (1) cochinita, but upon completion, I returned to the counter for another! The pickled onions were the perfect addition to the juicy pork, and the salsa bar gave me the opportunity to further dress the taco anyway I wanted. All-in-all, the customer service was top notch, the margaritas contained the perfect balance of tequila and lime, and we would have really been selling ourselves short if we hadn't ordered any food! Most definitely will be back!!!

Barbacoa

This was my first time trying Taqueria Picoso, but it won't be the last. I got three tacos - the fish, the shrimp and the barbacoa. I was going back and forth between ordering the birria and the barbacoa - I had to take these to-go so I decided barbacoa would be easier to eat on the go without crashing my car (although if I did crash, based on how good all the tacos were, it probably would have been worth it). The barbacoa is simple, tasty and VERY traditional - this is the first barbacoa I've ever had that was made with lamb (as a Greek, I was very down for this). I added some radish, cilantro, onion and the spicy red sauce from the salsa bar - just the right amount of spice, a good portion of meat - the perfect taco for a chilly winter day. To-go was packed up perfectly and the staff were friendly and informative. Excited to try more tacos on my next trip to Picoso!

Fish Taco

This was my first time trying Taqueria Picoso, but it won't be the last. I got three tacos - the fish, the shrimp and the barbacoa. The fish taco I ordered on a whim (I don't always love fish) but it ended up being my surprise favorite. The cod is SO fresh and SO flaky - nice light flavor, not fishy or oily at all, and a generous portion. All of the flavors mixed together to make such a subtle, fresh, slightly spicy masterpiece. These tacos would be perfect on a summer day with a cold beer or a margarita after work (I plan to test this theory on their patio once it warms up). The jalapeno cucumber dressing was so good I ended up trying it on a couple of bites of my other tacos as well . . . DELICIOUS!

Suadero

We tried the suadero (brisket) tacos and they were tender, packed with flavor, well-seasoned, and contained a generous portion of meat. An added bonus is the thick house-made tortilla that houses the suadero which makes it easy to eat without falling apart. Would definitely try again!
